Social Studies

In social studies we investigate the development of the human community by studying geography, history, economics, politics, and anthropology.  In our exploration we discover the brokenness of many ideologies and institutions and consider biblical alternatives to cultural, institutional, and national development.

 

9th Grade:  world cultures and regional geography; early, classical and post-classical civilizations

 

10th Grade:  Renaissance and Reformation; Enlightenment and revolution

 

11th Grade:  the development of Western liberal democracy; the world at war

 

12th Grade:  Christian citizenship; modern government and economics. Students take a week-long field trip to Washington, DC, as part of this course.
