Favorite scripture verse:
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Favorite thing about working at CCS:
Growing up, I loved singing, playing piano, and creating programs—plays, puppet shows, recitals, and church worship events. Now I get to share those loves with kids and hope they come to love them too. More than that, however, I enjoy working at CCS because I’m not only teaching music, but I also have an opportunity to share my love for Christ and to impart the importance of praising and worshiping Him through music and life to my students.
Favorite learning activity:
Although we have many great special events—chapels, concerts, drama night—throughout our music year, I enjoy teaching the everyday things the best. I am happy when 1st graders can read a line of rhythm all together, when the 2nd graders master a round, and when the 4th graders play a song with three notes on recorder! I also look forward to hearing students ask, “Can we sing that again?”
Favorite student quote:
“I’m learning to sing!”
Fun or fascinating fact:
I have the unique privilege of working in the same school my three boys attend (in 8th, 6th, and 3rd grade) and where my husband teaches!
